The fatigue of families: a difficult articulation of the demand for care

The research strategy devised by Family (Net)Work for 2025 is based on the observation that, within a societal context characterised by the apparent disintegration of the relational fabric and the diminution of support networks, the demand for care services is evolving into a more intricate and complex phenomenon. The demographic shifts, marked by the ageing population, the rise in single-person households, and the evolution of traditional cohabitation models, necessitate a comprehensive examination of the strategies – and the strain – with which individuals and families grapple with daily challenges such as household management and the care of loved ones.
